Dream car wanted: Jensen CV-8
With less than 500 cars build from 1962 to 1966 the Jensen CV-8 was one of the most exclusive high performance automobiles money could buy. This 2 + 2 GT ticked all the supercar boxes.
Low key the appearance of the CV-8s light fiberglass body with the aluminum doors, very British its sumptuous wood and leather interior.
Everything but understated the 6.3 liter American big block V8 engine from Chrysler, brute horsepower in a gentleman’s suit.
‘Fire it up and the aggressive double heartbeat stops well short of obnoxious’ – a press comment of its time.
On a straight line none of its competitors were able to keep up with the ‘Gent’s Dragster’ – not even the Astons.*
To add to a private classic car collection I am looking for a CV-8 in either very good original condition or fully restored, preferable a MKIII.
